COIMA SGR and BNP Paribas co-invest in Torre Diamante fund in Milan's Porta Nuova district

COIMA SGR, as manager of the Fondo Porta Nuova Varesine, and BNP Paribas have announced a co-investment in the ownership vehicle of Torre Diamante in Porta Nuova, Milan, which has hosted the bank's headquarters since 2016.
Torre Diamante, an asset valued at over €400 million, is one of Milan's most recognisable skyline landmarks: designed by international architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox, the building stands approximately 140 metres tall with over 30 above-ground floors, a total surface area of approximately 30,000 square metres and spaces designed to accommodate over 2,000 professionals. The building was constructed to high sustainability standards, achieving LEED Gold certification.
The transaction was completed through the contribution of Torre Diamante by the Fondo Porta Nuova Varesine to the Fondo Porta Nuova Diamond, with simultaneous co-investment by BNP Paribas.
COIMA SGR was assisted by A&O Shearman in all phases of the transaction, with a team coordinated by partner Emanuele Trucco and comprising senior associate Eliana Cioffi and associate Houda Latrech for corporate law matters; counsel Alberto Claretta Assandri and associate Mario Alessio Albano for regulatory matters. Partner Pietro Scarfone, together with associates Marta Mastroeni and Edoardo Manera and trainee Laura Margelli, assisted COIMA SGR in relation to the financing of Fondo Porta Nuova Varesine and Fondo Porta Nuova Diamond.
The outgoing pool of banks and the financing pool of banks of Fondo Porta Nuova Varesine were assisted by McDermott Will & Schulte, with a team led by partners Andrea Giaretta and Francesco Romeo and comprising associate Marco Colombo and trainee Francesca Misciasci for real estate and banking law matters, and partner Giuseppe Mazzarella for tax matters.
BNP Paribas was assisted by Chiomenti, with a team led by Luca Fossati, Luca Liistro and Arnaldo Cremona and comprising Virginia Rezza, Leonardo Forotan and Mariateresa Lamanna for corporate matters. Regulatory matters were handled by Vincenzo Troiano and Emanuela Gagliani Caputo; tax matters by Giuseppe Andrea Giannantonio, Marco Di Siena and Giovanni Scavone; and finance matters by Gregorio Consoli, Alfonso Stanzione, Elena Brunetta and Maria Vittoria Strola.
