Italy’s Portolano Cavallo adds of counsel to lead banking and finance area
Italian full-service law firm Portolano Cavallo has announced the incorporation of Alessandro Tanno as of counsel, and who will lead the firm’s banking and finance practice.
New law firm Vial Larraín Femenías launched in September, led by founding partners Jorge Vial, Ignacio Larraín and Jorge Femenías.
The three partners are formerly of Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, where Vial and Larraín were partners and Femenías was director of dispute resolution.
The new firm, based in Santiago, specializes in litigation and arbitration, antitrust, public law, environmental, compliance, criminal law, consumer protection, data protection, insolvency, regulation, dispute resolution and corporate restructuring.
Vial, a partner at PPU since 2020, when the firm absorbed the boutique he founded in 2017, specializes in dispute resolution inside and outside of Chile.
Larraín, who also joined PPU in 2017 as a director, specializes in competition advisory related to the banking, fuel, energy, telecommunications, retail and laboratory sectors.
With an extensive background as an academic, Femenías focuses on public law with an emphasis on liability for environmental damage and administrative sanctioning law.
