Chile’s Quintana Ried Flores Abogados adds 2 partners

The two new partners join founding partners Rodrigo Quintana, Ignacio Ried, and Camila Flores, bringing their extensive experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Carlos Badilla and Francisco Cruz are experts in both criminal litigation and civil and commercial dispute resolution, with a track record of representing clients across various industries.
Carlos Badilla, specialized in criminal, civil and administrative law, holds a law degree from the Universidad de Chile and a master’s degree in criminal law and criminal sciences from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universidad de Barcelona in Spain.
He also holds diplomas in economic criminal law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and in sanctioning administrative law from the Universidad de Chile.
With nearly 10 years of professional experience and a career focused on litigation and dispute resolution, Carlos joined QRF Abogados as a senior associate at the firm’s founding in 2019, having previously been part of the litigation and arbitration department at Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana during four years.
For his part, new partner Francisco Cruz has over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, within and outside of Chile. He has served as an advisor to companies, public agencies, and trade associations.
He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a postgraduate degree in constitutional law, and a master's degree in public law from the same university.
Currently, he serves as a member of the Court of Appeals of San Miguel, is a counselor of the National Television Council, and president of the Panamanian-Chilean Chamber of Commerce. He has held the position of executive secretary of the Justice Studies Center of the Americas (CEJA - OAS) and the International Representative of the Presidency of Grupo Empresas Navieras (GEN) for Latin America.
From 2014 to 2018, he served as Chile's ambassador to Panama and was chief of staff and political advisor to the Minister of Justice between 2000 and 2006.
