Chile’s Quadrant Legal promotes two to partner
Posted on Apr 21, 2021

The firm is strengthening its business model based on the services provided directly by its partners, and the new promotions mean that the firm's legal team is now comprised exclusively of partners, all with some 15 years of experience in tax and wealth management matters.
Patricio Vera joined Quadrant Legal in 2018 after eight years at the Chilean Internal Revenue Service (SII), and during four of those years he worked in the tax authority’s high-income division.
A specialist in advising corporate clients and individuals on tax matters and wealth management, Vera also advises on financial instruments, capital markets and corporate structuring. He holds a law degree from the Universidad de Chile and a master’s degree in tax law from the Universidad del Desarrollo.
He also holds diplomas in tax planning and tax process law from the Universidad de Chile.
“Patricio will continue to contribute in his new role with his technical and practical experience, with a focus on ensuring efficiency and certainty in the fulfillment of the solutions proposed by the team,” according to the founding partners.
"The combination of a team with these characteristics, combined with an institutional culture that favors flexibility and shared resources, with a capacity for movement and transformation in such changing times, are consistent with my vision of the future of the legal market. This appointment is a boost to continue growth in this direction," Patricio Vera said.
Jaime Rosso has advised local and international clients on tax matters and joined Quadrant in 2020, having previously worked for firms including Deloitte and Morales y Besa, and was part of the team that advised the Chilean government on its first issuance of green bonds.
He has ample experience in structuring and tax advice relating to M&As, local and international financing and litigation before the SII.
He holds a degree in law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a master’s degree in business law from the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez.
He also graduated with an LLM in international taxation from the University of Florida in 2012.
These two appointments are in line with the firms response to market perception and client expectations, Gonzalo Rivera and Carlos Vergara, founding partners of Quadrant Legal, said in a statement.
“Clients are looking for less intermediation in advice and a straight line to the person who is effectively directing the work, in addition, they expect a wholesome approach: experience in related matters, careful follow-up and certainty of outcomes," Rivera said.“I very much value working in a firm which is grounded in what we call 'the culture of argument'. In this
method of decision making, all views, both from the legal and audit accounting team are welcomed, regardless of the role. In this way, we ensure that the matter in question is approved by the entire team, in order to assure accurate, secure and tailor-made holistic advice for the client,” Jaime Rosso said.
