Geraldine Moffat has been promoted to partner in its labor law and social security department, while Santiago Balbi is now a partner in the firm’s corporate law and M&A practice.

Geraldine Moffat advises international and national companies on labor and social security matters and has worked practically her entire professional career at the firm, where she has played an outstanding role in highly complex litigation processes, transactional matters, and due diligence processes.

She holds a law degree from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires, and she completed a labor law postgraduate specialization in 2007 at the Law School of the Argentine Catholic University.

Between 2004-07 she was an associate in the labor law department at law firm Negri & Teijeiro, where she served as legal counsel for corporate and financial clients.

For his part, Santiago Balbi joined Bruchou in 2014 and advises on corporate law, M&A and private equity matters, particularly in financing rounds of companies in various sectors of the economy such as technology, finance and the energy sector.

Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate at law firm Brons & Salas, and at its spin-off Zaballa-Carcio Abogados, and at Salaverri, Dellatorre, Burgio & Wetzler Malbran.

Santiago obtained a law degree from Argentina’s Catholic University Law School in 2008 and completed a postgraduate degree in legal business at the same university.

He is a member of the Colegio Público de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires and was a foreign associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP (Nueva York), during 2018-2019.

“The appointments of Geraldine and Santiago are part of Bruchou's commitment to invest and promote talent in order to be the best choice for those outstanding professionals who want to develop their careers to the fullest,” the firm said.

“It is excellent news for the Firm that two career associates have been appointed as partners,” Bruchou’s managing partner Liban Kusa said.

“It demonstrates Bruchou's commitment for the development of our lawyers' careers. Both Geraldine and Santiago have done an excellent job and their appointment as partners makes us proud. This designation strengthens the organization and encourages our associates to continue to develop and grow personally and professionally,” Kusa added.
