The Belgian postal service agreed to transfer its subsidiary to customer activation specialist, BD myShopi, as of 1 January 2020.
CityDepot groups deliveries to offices and businesses in Belgian cities. It has been a subsidiary of bpost since 2015 and completes an estimated 1,000 delivers per day.
The deal was announced on Monday. Bpost CEO Parcels & Logistics Europe & Asia, Kathleen Van Beveren, explained the company wanted to streamline its offering to strongly focus on its B2C activities. Raf Lambrix, CEO of BD myShopi, stated in a press release that “the addition of CityDepot to our company allows us to build upon our expertise and solutions. We can now group even more deliveries, which allows us to minimize our movements. This will meet the expectations of any stakeholder in sustainable logistics”
CityDepot employs 30 people and operates in six cities – Brussels, Antwerp, Charleroi, Gent, Hasselt and Liège). All 30 employees are expected to make the move to BD myShopi.
