Bertrand Senechal joins CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats as partner
CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats has reinforced its equity capital markets practice with the arrival of new partner Bertrand Senechal.
Bertrand Senechal has become a partner in CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats’ equity capital markets team, which is led by Rosetta Ferrere and Marc-Etienne Sebire. The newcomer will also work closely with Virginie Corbet-Picard and the rest of the corporate/M&A team.
Bertrand Senechal acts for companies and banks during the course of their international financial markets moves (initial public offerings, capital increases, block trades) and debt capital market transactions (equity-linked securities, high-yield and sovereign debt), in several countries, including France and the United States. He also advises listed companies on disclosure obligations, market abuse, corporate law and corporate governance.
He acted in the IPOs of Airbus, Air France, EDF and Orange. Among his clients are mid-sized energy transition and biotech companies. A member of the New York and Paris bars, he regularly covers American and French aspects of big-ticket cross-border deals.
Senechal began his career in New York with Shearman & Sterling in 1994, moving to its Paris office in 1996 and eventually becoming partner in 2005. More recently, he spent a decade at Linklaters, from 2013 to 2023. His academic qualifications include an LL.M in corporate law from New York University School of Law, and a master’s in business and tax law from Pantheon-Assas University in Paris.
