Chilean firms Aninat Abogados and BDO Chile have announced the formation of a strategic alliance to provide specialized services to the fintech industry.
The move comes in the wake of the entry into force of Chile’s fintech law, which promotes competition and inclusion through innovation and technology in the provision of financial services.
The two firms’ strategic alliance combines the corporate, strategic and compliance knowledge of Aninat Abogados with the audit and consulting expertise of BDO Chile "to help fintech companies, according to their own needs, to prepare and adapt to the regulation that came into force on February 3rd and that will be fully applied in mid-2024", according to a joint statement from the firms.
The expected deadline for the application of the legislation depends on Chile’s Financial Market Commission (CMF) issuing the general rules for the sector.
Santiago, Chile-based Aninat Abogados advises companies linked to the "payments market, the transfer of money abroad, the development of tokens and crypto assets and, in general, technological ventures associated with areas as diverse as finance, real estate, maritime services and B2B, both in their relationship with the CMF and other authorities".
BDO Chile, also based in Santiago, has more than 20 years of operation in the country and is a member of the BDO International network. Its areas of expertise include auditing, business services and outsourcing, tax and legal, and advisory services, and which serves the fintech industry through its BDO Fintech Program.
