VERTEX welcomes international disputes director

Global consultancy VERTEX has announced the incorporation of Paula Sanchez as director, international disputes, and who will contribute to the firm’s support of its clients in their complex projects and dispute resolution efforts across global markets.

Paula brings extensive experience managing complex infrastructure, oil and gas, and industrial projects across multiple regions. Known for her collaborative approach to dispute resolution, she works closely with clients to help them confidently navigate challenges and achieve successful project outcomes.

With significant project experience throughout Latin America and Europe, Paula joins Simon Braithwaite and the international disputes team, and her leadership and technical insight enhance the team’s ability to support clients in those regions while further expanding VERTEX’s international capabilities.

Paula has extensive experience supporting arbitration and litigation proceedings, working closely with legal counsel and technical experts on matters involving quantum, delay, disruption, and productivity loss. She has contributed to expert analyses and reports in international arbitrations under ICC and ICSID rules, involving complex projects such as desalination and water treatment plants, refineries and oil and gas platform and infrastructure projects across the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.

Her background reinforces VERTEX’s commitment to helping clients manage risk, resolve disputes, and successfully deliver complex projects worldwide.

Paula holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in mechanical production engineering from the Universidade Estadual Paulista and an MBA in management of production from the Universidade De São Paulo.
