TOPPAN Holding’s Acquires of 80% of Irplast

TOPPAN Holdings Inc. (TYO: 7911, listed as on the Tokyo Stock Exchange), through its subsidiary TOPPAN Speciality Films Private Limited, based in India, has signed a binding agreement for the acquisition of 80% of the shares of Irplast S.p.A, an Italian manufacturer of high-performance BOPP films, from the current majority shareholder Cheyne European Strategic Value Credit S.A.R.L. 2, a Luxembourg vehicle controlled by the UK investment fund Cheyne Strategic Value Credit.
Through this transaction, the TOPPAN Group will integrate Irplast’s advanced production technologies for high-performance BOPP films to develop and offer innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of its customers.
Bird & Bird advised TOPPAN on the corporate aspects of the transaction with a team led by partner Alberto Salvadè, senior counsel Maurizio Pinto, and associate Vanessa Sebastianutti.
