Spanish private equity association ASCRI appoints BeAble Capital's Almudena Trigo to board
Spanish venture capital and private equity association ASCRI has appointed Almudena Trigo, founding partner of the venture capital firm BeAble Capital, to its board of directors and venture capital committee.
Trigo founded BeAble Capital in 2008 together with David López.
Trigo developed her career as a scientist in two major Spanish research centres: the National Cancer Research Centre and the National Centre for Biotechnology. She has also collaborated with the National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) in France.
She later became director of the technology transfer department of the Madrid Science Park.
The €35 million BeAble Capital fund invests in a range of sectors including the space sector, artificial intelligence, robotics, industrial biotechnology, nanotechnology and photonics.
José Zudaire, ASCRI managing director, said: “At ASCRI we are proud to have Almudena and BeAble Capital on our board of directors, a very active venture capital fund that we are sure will bring a great deal of knowledge to the private equity sector and to startups.”
Trigo said: "It is a pleasure to be able to join the board of directors and add strength to this project at such an important time for the Spanish economy. Support for investment in science-based companies has become fundamental, both for the generation of a high value-added industrial fabric in our country and to guarantee the achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals."
