Spain's Atrys Health enters Portugal with the acquisition of Lenitudes

Atrys Health, a provider of precision medical diagnosis and treatment services, has agreed with Spanish fund MCH Private Equity to acquire its Portuguese diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy oncology business, Lenitudes, for €17 million.

Oporto-based Lenitudes offers a complete range of services in radio-diagnosis, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other clinical oncology services. The payment to MCH for the acquisition of its 91.7% stake in Lenitudes will be made by delivering Atrys shares at a value of €7.25 per share which will mean the issue of 2,253,337 new shares, thus incorporating MCH as one of the reference shareholders.

For Santiago de Torres, president of Atrys, this agreement "constitutes another great step forward in our plan for growth and internationalization and will expand our presence in Europe, after having focused on Latin America in several of our latest acquisitions”.

Garrigues advised the seller, while a team from Pinsent Masons´ Madrid office, comprised of partner Inmaculada Castelló, senior associates Rafael Durán and Isabel García Díaz-Mauriño, acted for the buyer. Norgestión has acted as M&A advisor to the transaction on behalf of Atrys. The transaction is expected to be closed before March 25, 2021.
