Solaris Resources acquires more mining exploration rights in Ecuador

Swiss mining company Solaris Resources has entered into an agreement with Ecuador’s state-owned mining company ENAMI that grants Solaris an exclusive option to acquire up to a 100% interest in approximately 40,000 hectares of highly prospective exploration areas.

The agreement entails a proposed minimum exploration investment program of $25 million over a four-year phase and the parallel advancement of a feasibility study and environmental impact assessment for the flagship project.

The expansion strategically consolidates Solaris' footprint around its world-class Warintza project in southeastern Ecuador. The new areas, designated ‘Solaris 2’, capture extensions of key geological trends, reinforcing the possibility of developing a premier global copper mining hub.

Solaris Resources was advised on the formation of the agreement by law firm Robalino, whose team was led by partner Andrés Donoso and senior associate Cristina Coello.

The firm’s team “played a pivotal role in navigating the complex regulatory framework and commercial negotiations required for this second major agreement between Solaris and the Ecuadorian state”, the firm said.
