Peru’s Cornejo Calderón relaunches as boutique labor law firm

Peruvian firm Cornejo Calderón, is relaunching as a boutique labor law firm to consolidate its position in the market.

“The firm is undergoing a transformation and is solidifying its position as a boutique law firm,” the firm, which is led by partners Carlos Cornejo Vargas, Cecilia Calderón Paredes and Daniel De la Vega, said in a statement.

Carlos Cornejo brings over 25 years of experience as a labor lawyer. He has worked at prominent firms, including Muñiz, Hernández, and Rubio, and has a significant academic presence as a professor at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) and Universidad ESAN. He holds a law degree from PUCP and a master’s degree in labor law and social security from the same university. He is a member of the Peruvian Society of Labor and Social Security Law and has extensive expertise in labor consultancy and the design of procedural strategies.

Cecilia Calderón has over 15 years of solid experience as a labor lawyer. She has been part of renowned firms such as Muñiz, Echecopar (associated with Baker & McKenzie International), and Garrigues Peru. Cecilia holds a law degree from PUCP, an LLM in International Transactions from the Center for Garrigues Studies and Fordham University, and a master’s degree in human resources management from EAE Business School. She has completed advanced studies in Labor Law and Social Security at PUCP and teaches at UPC. She specializes in labor consultancy and managing administrative procedures before SUNAFIL.

For his part, Daniel De la Vega has over 20 years of experience as a labor lawyer. He has worked at distinguished firms such as García Sayán Abogados and Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano. Daniel holds a law degree from PUCP and a master’s degree in general theory of law and legal argumentation from the University of Salamanca. His specialties include labor relations management, collective bargaining, and labor litigation in key sectors such as mining, energy, and industry.
