Pedro Marques Gaspar has joined Amadeus, a global leader in travel technology, as AI and Privacy Counsel in Spain, marking his return to an in-house legal position.

In this new role, Gaspar will help drive Amadeus' global AI and privacy compliance strategy, with a particular focus on the implementation of the EU AI Act. He will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, data governance, product, and security—to provide guidance on complex AI-related risks and ensure regulatory compliance across innovation-led initiatives.

His responsibilities include translating evolving legal and regulatory requirements into technical and operational practices. He will also support internal training efforts to build awareness and alignment on AI and data protection obligations across the organization.

A seasoned legal professional with over a decade of experience in data protection, digital regulation, and emerging technologies, Gaspar was previously a Manager at PwC Tax & Legal in Madrid. His career spans the tech and hospitality sectors, leading law firms, and multinational corporations, with experience across Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris.

He holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Lisbon, a Master’s in Business Law from NOVA School of Law, and an Advanced LL.M. in International Business Law from Católica Global School of Law and IE Law School. He has also completed executive programs in Information Law and Intellectual Property Law in Amsterdam and Lisbon.

Commenting on his new position, Gaspar said: “After several years advising leading organisations on the intersection of technology, law, and innovation, I’m excited to return to an in-house role where I can help shape and embed AI and privacy compliance from within.”
