Mewburn Ellis Opens Munich Office
UK IP firm Mewburn Ellis have opened their first office in mainland Europe. The firm, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary, now offer on-the ground presence to both domestic European clients and international clients.

The office is strategically located near the European Patent Office and will offer the full range of patent, trademark and design services, including drafting, prosecution, oppositions and appeals, dispute resolution, IP strategy consulting and portfolio management.
“This new base will not only enhance our ability to service our EU-based clients, but also our large portfolio of non-EU and international clients, including those from across the US, Japan and South Korea,” the firm stated.
The office is led by partner Tanis Keirstead, who was previously based in in the UK. Tanis, who is member of the science patent team, joined Mewburn Ellis in 2005 and has been a partner at the firm since 2013. She has a vast experience working with a wide range of clients on invention capture and filing strategy, as well as global portfolio management. Tanis also has the support of new partner Christoph Moeller who joined the firm in August. Moeller is a German and European Patent Attorney and an EUIPO representative and comes from an in-house role as VP/Head of Patents of Schindler Elevators.
The firm expects to expand into a five-partner office within 12 to 18 months and is in discussion with a number of new hires.
