ISDI's founders, Javier Rodríguez Zapatero (former general manager of Google Spain, Portugal and Middle East) and Nacho de Pinedo, will continue to lead the new group as president and CEO, respectively.
This represents the first investment that the private equity firm has made through its Magnum III fund.
Arcano Partners and Uría Menéndez have advised the shareholders of ISDI on the deal, while EY and Herbert Smith advised Magnum.
Magnum and ISDI have joined forces to develop Digital Talent Group, which will focus on business and digital technology education in Spain, Latin America and the United States.
The objective of Digital Talent is to contribute to the digitalization of the economy by developing high quality training in digital skills “with a focus on employability, entrepreneurship and digital transformation”.
To this end, the group will develop a complete training scheme encompassing masters and university degrees, technical certifications and professional training, which will include the “acceleration of startups, in-company training and life-long learning”.
De Pinedo said: “Eleven years ago we created ISDI with the objective of transforming the professionals of the twentieth century into professionals of the digital era. We were forerunners in seeing the importance that digitalization was going to have in business and society. Now we don't have to convince anyone, everyone is aware that the new normality is digital. In this new phase, the need for professionals and companies to transform themselves digitally at all levels has multiplied, so we find ourselves obliged to accelerate the exponential nature of our project. Magnum has provided us with a strategic and financial framework, becoming the perfect partner with whom we can continue to fulfill our mission on a much larger scale.”
Magnum partner Alberto Bermejo said: “Our intention is to make the new group grow by complementing its training offer at the university, postgraduate and professional training levels. ISDI's positioning and ecosystem, team and business culture, and disruptive academic methodologies and technologies are the catalyst that guarantees the digital leadership of the whole project.”
