Limenet and Fassa Bortolo sign €5 million joint development agreement for low-emission electric kiln

Limenet, an Italian startup developing decarbonisation technologies for hard-to-abate industries, has signed a €5 million joint development agreement with Fassa Bortolo, a historic Italian industrial group and leader in the production of construction materials, for the co-development of a next-generation electric kiln designed for the production of high-performance, low-CO₂ lime.
The agreement is split equally between the two parties, with Limenet contributing €2.5 million and Fassa Bortolo investing a further €2.5 million. The partnership will allow Limenet's technology to be tested in an operational industrial setting, drawing on Fassa Bortolo's expertise and know-how in lime production processes.
The agreement follows the transaction completed in December 2025, when CDP Venture Capital and Fassa Bortolo invested €7 million in Limenet, bringing total equity raised to €9.5 million. The new €5 million commitment transforms that strategic investment into a concrete co-development project.
Limenet was assisted by Pavia e Ansaldo, with a team comprising partner Milena Prisco and counsel Arianna Paternicò, who handled all legal aspects relating to the structuring and finalisation of the agreement.
