Lenovo, the world’s largest personal computer maker, has unveiled its plan to take over 51% stake of Fujitsu’s personal computer business for $269 million after having its strongest revenue growth in the past two years. The company is looking to strengthen its core business, even though PC makers are struggling as consumers switch to mobile devices. Lenovo was the largest seller of PCs in 2016, with 21% of global sales. This deal is set to lift that figure to nearly 40%. Lenovo will improve cost competitiveness worldwide, by combining economies of scales such as: sales channels and suppliers.
