Daniel van Geerenstein announced that he is returning to the industrial sector. After nearly four years in the consumer goods industry, the current Head of Legal at JACK WOLFSKIN will join Nabtesco Europe in September as Head of Legal and Compliance.

Nabtesco is one of the leading Japanese specialists in robotics, automation and precision motion control systems. The Tokyo-listed corporation employs around 8,000 people worldwide across approximately 60 companies and is internationally recognised for its expertise in drive technologies, railway systems, industrial robotics and aerospace components.

In Germany, Nabtesco has established a particularly strong presence through its European headquarters in Düsseldorf. The company is regarded as a key supplier for advanced motion control technologies used in smart factories and next-generation automation systems.

Van Geerenstein leaves JACK WOLFSKIN after what he described as an “almost four-year-long ascent” at the outdoor apparel company. During his tenure, he oversaw legal affairs in a period marked by shareholder transition and international coordination between multiple management teams.

Reflecting on his departure, he expressed gratitude for the trust and support received from both former and current executives, including Richard Collier, Andre Grube, Matthew Jung, Jens Doering, Claire Midwood, John Yao and Yongchao Huang, as well as the legal and management teams of former shareholder Topgolf Cllaway Brands and current owner ANTA Group.

His appointment strengthens Nabtesco Europe’s leadership team at a time when industrial automation and robotics continue to expand across European markets. With experience spanning both industrial and consumer-facing international groups, Daniel van Geerenstein brings a cross-sector perspective to the Japanese manufacturer’s European legal operations.
