GOF Welcomes Dr. David Negenborn as Corporate/M&A Partner and Dr. Lucas Lengersdorf as Finance Counsel in Munich

Earlier this year, on April 1, 2026, Dr. Lucas Lengersdorf joined GOF from Freshfields as Counsel in the Finance practice. Together with Maximilian Spindler, LL.M. (Columbia), who was promoted to Partner last year, and Matthias Uelner, they will further strengthen GOF’s integrated transactional advisory platform and drive the continued growth of the firm’s transaction capabilities.
Dr. David Negenborn advises corporates, financial sponsors and family-owned businesses on domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, as well as corporate law matters. He has been admitted to practice as a German Rechtsanwalt and as a New York Attorney-at-Law since 2020. Following his doctorate at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, he obtained an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in New York. Dr. Negenborn joins from Hengeler Mueller, where he worked in the firm's Munich and Düsseldorf offices since 2021. During his tenure, he advised on numerous complex domestic and international transactions. Most recently, he advised Waterland on its investment in Condio, Trill Impact and Mesalvo on their strategic partnership with EDL, and STEAG/Iqony on the acquisition of Uniper’s district heating network.
Dr. Lucas Lengersdorf advises private equity sponsors, corporates and lenders, with a particular focus on domestic and international financing structures, acquisition financings and corporate finance transactions. After completing his doctorate at the University of Hamburg, he worked at Freshfields in Frankfurt and New York. There, he advised clients on complex financing solutions, including syndicated loans, acquisition financings, unitranche and Term Loan B financings, HoldCo/PIK structures and bank/bond transactions.
