Freshfields Brussels Appoints Two New Partners

The Belgian office of magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has been boosted by the promotion of two partners, Tone Oeyen and Fédéric Elens.

Tone Oeyen specializes in European and Belgian competition law with a particular focus on cross-border merger control and cartel enforcement. He also advises on abuse of dominance and State aid, as well as on general EU and international trade law and trade defense measures. Tone has also a strong expertise in litigation before the Belgian and European Courts.

Fédéric Elens advises corporate clients and financial investors on both public and private M&A, joint ventures and capital markets operations in Belgium and internationally. Frederic assists private equity clients on all aspects of their transactions, including on management incentivization, and has participated in transformational deals for corporate clients from a broad range of sectors.

The Belgian branch of the Anglo-Saxon firm has 15 partners who specialize in EU competition law (one of the largest teams in the country) and global M&A transactions.
