EJASO strengthens its Compliance department, a key area in its strategic development. The department will be led by partner César Zárate, who returns to the firm after a stint at ECIJA. Joining him will be Marta Guzmán, as principal associate, Óscar Marí, as senior lawyer, and Sofía Collado, as associate, all of whom have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and assessing compliance management systems for both national and international companies.
Zárate, an expert in corporate responsibility, financial crime prevention and responsible business conduct, including outsourced due diligence and whistleblowing management, views his return to EJASO as a homecoming and an opportunity to “drive an exciting and challenging project.” He notes that “in a context of constant regulatory change, my team and I are excited to bring our expertise to strengthen a critical practice like Compliance. This will allow us to expand our service offerings and fully meet the day-to-day needs of our clients with the highest guarantees.”
Manuel González-Haba, partner and member of EJASO’s Management Committee, sees the return of César Zárate and the addition of part of his team as "a step forward in strengthening our position as a leading firm in the middle market, while reinforcing our commitment to having top-tier professionals who share a common purpose: providing the best solutions for each and every client need." González-Haba added that: “Our goal, without a doubt, is to offer exceptional advisory services that equip our clients to face current and future challenges with confidence and success.”
César highlights, “In a constantly changing regulatory environment, being able to contribute, together with my team, our experience and expertise to consolidate a key practice like Compliance allows us to expand our service offerings and address the everyday needs of companies with the highest possible assurance.” In Zárate’s own words, he is returning to “the firm I consider my home” to “drive an exciting and challenging project.”
