Dentons to appoint Jabier Badiola as new Spain managing partner
Dentons is set to appoint Jabier Badiola as its new Spain managing partner.
He will replace Jesús Varela, who is to leave the firm – along with two other partners from Dentons’ Madrid office, José Ramón Vizcaino and Julio Parrilla - to join Pérez-Llorca.
Badiola is currently head of Dentons’ finance practice in Spain. His areas of expertise include syndicated lending, acquisition financing, structured finance, project finance, corporate lending and debt restructuring.
Badiola has been with Dentons for five years. Prior to that he was a senior associate at Clifford Chance.
Earlier in his career he worked for Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and Ramón & Cajal Abogados.
Last week it was revealed that Varela would be leaving the firm just over one year into a three-year term as managing partner. Varela was appointed managing partner in February 2019.
