Colombia’s Termotasajero secures loan

This transaction is one of the most significant refinancing transactions in the energy sector in Colombia in the last year.
The funds obtained will enable Termotasajero's thermal generation plants, located in the municipality of San Cayetano, in Norte de Santander department, with an installed capacity of 345.2MW, to continue to be a strategic pillar for the reliability and security of the country's energy system.
The will benefit close to one million homes and generate direct and indirect jobs for approximately 6,000 people.
"This financing is a reflection of the shared vision between the private sector and Colombian banks to boost the country's development through projects that strengthen the energy matrix, making it more resilient and diversified,” Manuel Quinche, managing partner of Cuatrecasas' Bogotá office, which advised Termotasajero, said.
