International law firm Clyde & Co has announced the return of Laura Ochoa Alonso to its litigation and insurance practice in Madrid. After serving as Senior Legal Counsel for AXA XL’s Iberia legal team, Ochoa re-joins the firm a decade after her initial tenure, this time as an equity partner. With her return, the Madrid office now counts five equity partners: Enrique Navarro, Miguel Relaño, Isabel Burón, newly promoted Javier Hernández-Valenciano, and Laura Ochoa.
Ochoa holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and brings over a decade of experience in both domestic and international litigation, particularly in matters involving civil liability, property and construction insurance, personal injury, and employer liability. She first joined Clyde & Co in 2014 from KPMG Abogados, rising to the position of Legal Director before moving to AXA XL.
Beyond her legal career, Ochoa is a strong advocate for female leadership in the legal and insurance sectors. In 2024, she joined EWI’s Executive Development Program for Women in Insurance, focused on developing key skills such as communication, negotiation, and strategic decision-making. She actively supports professional women’s networks and emphasizes the importance of personal connection in building collaborative, visible, and growth-oriented environments. She also chairs the Insurance Commission at Women in a Legal World, promoting professional networks and inclusive leadership.
Miguel Relaño, Co-Managing Partner of Clyde & Co in Spain, commented: “Laura’s return as an equity partner is not only a personal and professional milestone, but also a reflection of Clyde & Co’s commitment to professionals who bring lasting value to the firm. We’re proud to welcome her back in this new chapter.”
Enrique Navarro, also Co-Managing Partner, added: “We recognize that every legal career follows a unique path shaped by personal and professional priorities. Laura’s decision to return confirms that our model supports long-term, meaningful relationships.”
