Charles Russell Speechlys has relocated its Milan operations to larger premises at Via Borgogna 8, following a period of consistent growth for its Italian practice. The new office, situated in a renovated 1930s building in the city center, provides the firm with increased capacity to accommodate its expanding team of 17 lawyers and five support staff, with significant headroom for future growth.
Michael Lingens, the firm’s regional lead for continental Europe, highlighted the strategic importance of the move. “The Milan relocation underlines our long-term commitment to the Italian market, ensuring the Firm is well positioned to support clients’ needs as private capital activity continues to evolve in Italy,” he stated. Lingens added that the move equips the firm to deepen its private capital offering for entrepreneurs, family offices, and international clients, while also providing a "high-quality working environment that reflects the scale and ambition of the practice today and in the future."
Nicola Saccardo, Partner and Head of the firm’s Italian practice, emphasized the cross-border nature of the expansion: “The relocation of our Milan office to Via Borgogna 8 marks the next phase in the growth of our Italian practice, reflecting sustained investment in the market and confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead.” He noted that the move goes beyond a single location, adding, “This move is about strengthening the Italian practice as a Firmwide capability. Our Italian practice operates across Milan, London and other offices, and the new space supports the team wherever they are based.”
Since launching its Milan presence in November 2024, Charles Russell Speechlys has significantly broadened its service offering through a series of strategic hires. Recent key additions include the firm's first corporate tax partner in Italy, Paolo Rampulla, alongside corporate tax counsel Raffaella Piraccini and tax litigation counsel Massimiliano Lovotti. The firm also integrated a team led by Annapaola Negri-Clementi in late 2025 and welcomed Chiara del Frate, who splits her practice between London and Milan. Furthermore, the firm recently strengthened its leadership with the partner promotions of Giovanni Angelini in Milan and Gabriele Colombaioni in London.
