Bird & Bird hires ABG Intellectual Property partner José Miguel Lissén Arbeloa
Bird & Bird’s Madrid office has strengthened its intellectual property team with the hire of ABG Intellectual Property partner José Miguel Lissén Arbeloa

Lissén Arbeloa was head of legal and litigation at ABG. He had been with the firm for two years.
Prior to joining ABG, Lissén Arbeloa had been a partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He has more than 22 years’ experience in intellectual property, with extensive knowledge in the fields of patent and trade secret litigation in particular. He specializes in the new technologies and life sciences sectors.
A Bird & Bird statement said: “The appointment of José Miguel will consolidate the growth of Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property group in Spain, adding to the work being carried out by partners Manuel Lobato and Mariano Santos. The objective is to satisfy the growing demand that this practice is experiencing from Spanish and international clients.
Lobato, who heads Bird & Bird’s intellectual property team in Madrid, commented: "I am delighted to welcome José Miguel to Bird & Bird. His appointment marks the next stage of growth for our IP team in Madrid, particularly in the area of patent and trade secret litigation.
