The other nominations included the announcement of two new members for Baker & McKenzie’s executive committee: Ai Ai Wong from Singapore and Duane Webber based in Washington, DC. Gary Seib and Michael Wagner have also taken over the chair role in the firm's Asia Pacific and North American regional councils. While Fiona Carlin will be taking over as global chair of the firm's antitrust & competition group, and Simone Musa will be taking over the firm's tax group, Ben McLaughlin is now global chair of the healthcare group. Furthermore, Baker & McKenzie announced the creation of a new industry group called global consumer goods, which will be led by Alyssa Gallot-Auberger.
Paul Rawlinson has stated that he is delighted to be Baker & McKenzie’s new chairman and that the firm is fortunate to have a significant pool of talent from which it can elect high performing individuals to new important positions. He finished by pointing out that, happily, four of the six new appointments were women. Baker & McKenzie currently has 13,000 staff members spread across 77 offices in 47 countries.
