Avianca makes $600m bond issuance

The 9.000% senior secured notes are due 2028 and the proceeds will be used for the carrier’s general corporate purposes, strategically extending the maturity of its indebtedness.

Law firm Robalino served as local counsel in Ecuador for the joint bookrunners, including Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and others.

Robalino’s team was led by managing partner Javier Robalino, with banking and finance partner José María Bustamante, of counsels Rafael Serrano and Ernesto Velasco, and  intellectual property senior associate María José Peñaherrera.

International counsel to the initial purchasers was provided by Davis Polk & Wardwell, while Avianca was represented by Simpson Thacher & Bartlett as international counsel and Walkers Global for Bermuda and Cayman Islands law matters.
