Miya is the first private water operator in Portugal and a global provider of water efficiency products for public and private utilities

With its more than 700 employees, Miya provides services to more than 600,000 people in Portugal through six long-term municipal concessions and a public-private partnership (PPP) project. In addition, the company has carried out more than 200 water efficiency projects around the world with the aim of reducing unregistered water (that is, water lost during distribution).

Upon completion of the acquisition, Antin will work with Miya's management team, led by CEO Amit Horman, to develop growth opportunities in water concessions and PPP projects in Europe and North America, as well as execute new water efficiency projects worldwide.

Antin was advised by Deutsche Bank, Herbert Smith Freehills, Sérvulo, McConnell Valdés, PWACS Corporate Finance, Defining Future Options, EY and Marsh.

Bridgepoint has been advised by Citi, Uría Menéndez, PwC Strategy&, EY, ERM and Willis.

Mauricio Bolaña, Antin partner, said: "Miya is the best water operator in its category and has a solid base that will drive us to capture the strong growth potential that exists in the sector. We are delighted to support Miya's management team in the next stage of the company's development.”

Bridgepoint partner Hector Perez said, "Miya is an extraordinary company with a great management team. We are excited to be part of this new venture and to continue to support its growth ambitions in this new phase with Antin.”

Horman commented: "We are grateful to Bridgepoint for their significant support. We anticipate that, through the collaboration with Antin, we will be able to realize the significant potential we see for the coming years.”
