Andersen Italia has expanded its service offering with the launch of a new practice dedicated to AI Governance & Compliance, further strengthening its Privacy, Compliance & 231 service line, led by partners Paola Finetto and Luca Rigotti.
Maria Lillà Montagnani, full professor of Commercial Law at Università Bocconi, Director of the Master of Arts in Global Law for Organizations, Business Enterprises and Institutions, and one of Italy's leading experts in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and data economy, joins Andersen Italia as Of Counsel to lead the new practice.
The AI Governance & Compliance department will cover first-level assessments, mapping of applicable obligations, support in defining governance frameworks, policies and internal approval workflows, review of contracts with technology suppliers and partners, preparation of audit documentation, as well as AI literacy, training and ongoing risk management activities.
Artificial intelligence is entering the most sensitive business processes — from personnel selection to risk assessment, from pricing to internal controls — making compliance with the AI Act not merely a regulatory requirement, but a strategic governance choice that affects reputation, operational continuity and sustainable growth. Professor Montagnani's expertise will further strengthen the team in supporting companies and international groups in building a concrete, business-driven model. (Francesco Inturri, Head of Legal, Andersen Italia)
Artificial intelligence poses regulatory and governance challenges for businesses that require integrated expertise and a multidisciplinary approach. I am pleased to join Andersen on this path, bringing the contribution of academic research to support concrete solutions for organisations. (Maria Lillà Montagnani, Of Counsel, Andersen Italia)
