Gonzalez Calvillo announces two new partner appointments.
Mexico’s Gonzalez Calvillo announced the appointment of labor & employment and corporate compensation specialist Luis Enrique Cervantes, and Alberto Pliego, intellectual property and franchising expert, as partners of the firm.
Cervantes advises in all aspects of labor and employment, social security, and benefits law, as well as on compliance related matters. His expertise includes hiring processes, individual and collective bargaining matters, executive compensation programs, expat management, pension plans, labor restructures, employment termination, massive lay-offs, complex labor, and employment litigation including strategic defense representing companies in labor claims filed by employees and expats.
He represents clients from various industries and sectors including telecom, entertainment, automotive, aeronautical, financial, mining, retail, pharma, and healthcare.
Pliego’s expertise includes both domestic and international counsel, advising on a broad range of aspects including consulting and litigation related to the protection and defense of intellectual property rights, as well as in the negotiation, drafting and execution of franchise agreements, licenses, distribution, and relevant aspects of intellectual property agreements in M&A transactions.
His client base ranges from restaurant chains, convenience stores, gas stations, clothing stores, advertising agencies, hospitality industry, military industry, companies from the construction, telecommunication, technology, consumer goods, among others.
In addition to the partner promotions, the firm announced two new counsels. Julia González, expert in the social impact assessment scene and in constitutional and regulatory matters, as well as Rafael Fuentes, well-known regulatory consulting, strategic legal protection, and constitutional and administrative litigation specialist.
