Dentons Cárdenas & Cárdenas has strengthened its banking and finance area through the incorporation of Felipe Alarcón as its new partner.
The arrival of Felipe Alarcon is part of the firm’s moves to consolidate its position and broaden the services rendered to its clients, the firm said in a statement.
Felipe graduated in law from the Universidad de los Andes and has postgraduate studies in financial legislation from the same university. He also has an LLM from Columbia University School of Law.
As a lawyer, Felipe has served as deputy director of regulation at the Financial Superintendence of Colombia, acted as general secretary of Corficolombiana, and held the position of foreign associate at Davis & Polk Wardwell, in New York.
"We believe that Felipe's incorporation to the Banking & Finance practice is in line with the goals set up in our strategic plan,” Bernardo Cárdenas, managing partner of Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas, said. “Without a doubt, Felipe fits perfectly into the DNA of Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas. His experience in the financial and regulatory sector will allow us to have a 360-degree view of the business,” he added.
“In addition, he will strengthen the regulatory practice, will provide solution driven advice to fintechs, and his support will be fundamental in complex financial transactions."
