Criales & Urcullo Opens New Office in Santa Cruz de la Sierra
As a result of recent growth, Criales & Urcullo, a leading La Paz-based law firm, has launched a new office in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia’s business hub.
Criales & Urcullo practice areas of specialization, includes corporate, tax, energy, banking, capital markets, real estate, project finance, strengthening the firm’s presence in other regions of the country.
The Santa Cruz firm’s office will be led by two new partners: Luis Valda and Mario Ballivian, who recently joined the law firm.
Valda specializes in taxation and has previously worked as a deputy director of hierarchical appeals at Bolivia’s administrative tax court, Autoridad de Impugnación Tributaria. He is also active in banking and finance issues, assisting clients on securities issuances, project finance and regulatory matters.
Ballivian has extensive experience in energy, corporate, regulation and competition law. He worked as a legal manager of the Repsol Group Bolivia and YPFB Andina S.A. and holds a master’s degrees from Dundee University and London School of Economics.
