Colombia’s Serrano Martínez adds new partner
Colombian law firm Serrano Martínez, which focuses on corporate and antitrust laws, has announced the incorporation of Ana María Valdivieso as a partner in the firm.
Ana María joins the firm from Valdivieso Abogados, where she was a labor attorney from 2017 until 2022, and prior to that held the position of senior associate at Baker McKenzie in Bogotá, a position she held from 2014-17.
She has also worked as an in-house lawyer at Mecánicos Asociados.
Ana María is an expert in labor, social security and immigration law, and she focuses on providing legal advice to national and foreign companies in making strategic decisions of human resources management, defense on administrative process on labor matters and judicial representation in labor litigation.
She also has ample experience in immigration proceedings, hiring and compensation of expatriates, transference of employees, implementation of corporate policies, mechanisms and alternatives for outsourcing of services, design of compensation schemes, labor audit, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and voluntary retirement plans.
She is a member of Colegio de Abogados del Trabajo and is an arbitrator of the Arbitration Courts in labor matters, appointed by the Labor Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.
She holds a degree in law from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and is fluent in English.
