Colombia’s Espinosa & Olarte Abogados incorporates 2 new partners
Colombian law firm Espinosa & Olarte has announced the incorporation of two experienced lawyers to its team as partners, Jairo Malaver, who will lead the firm’s foreign trade and regulatory compliance practice, and Nathalia Acevedo, who will head the art and entertainment law practice.
Jairo is a highly experienced lawyer with a deep understanding of foreign trade and regulatory matters, and has worked as deputy superintendent for technical regulations and legal metrology at the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.
Jairo has advised clients and public institutions such as the National Planning Department of Colombia and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) on a wide range of regulatory matters. He advises companies on their import and export operations, technical regulations compliance, customs clearance, concerns about trade agreements, antidumping & safeguard duties and internationalization.
For her part, Nathalia is a leading expert in the creative and cultural industries, where she has extensive experience.
She worked at the cultural management division of Banco de la República of Colombia, providing legal advice throughout planning and execution of art exhibitions, concerts, musical projects, art publications and publishers relationships affairs, and was part of a project led by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as part of the advisory team of the Center for Research and Technological Development of the Electro Electronic and ICT Industry.
She is also a lawyer at the legal office of the Association of Artists, Interpreters and Musical Performers of Spain (AIE) and Rooter Analysis, a Spanish information technology consultancy.
Jairo and Nathalia are also university professors on economic law and intellectual property respectively.
