Chilean law firm Grupo Evans has announced the incorporation of two of counsel, Rodrigo Violic and Felipe Zepeda, and who join the firm’s corporate finance and project finance practices.

Grupo Evans brings together a team of experienced and knowledgeable professionals that advises clients on legal and strategic matters related to the development and licensing of infrastructure, real estate and natural resources projects. The firm’s clients are spread across multiple sectors, from public and private investment, regulated markets and energy, water, mining, urban planning, economic regulation, environment, sustainability and community relations.

The firm has developed an unprecedented area among law firms, incorporating engineers with solid experience in the execution, management and development of investment projects, which allows it to offer an integrated management of legal, technical, environmental and social aspects.

Rodrigo Violic is a commercial engineer who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry in Chile and the United Kingdom. He is a member of the investment committee of the private debt fund of Toesca Asset Management and a professor of the energy financing course on the master’s degree program in renewable energy technologies and management at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

During his professional career, he has served as head of project finance at Banco BICE for more than 60 NCRE projects in Chile and was developing country private sector representative of the advisory group of the Green Climate Fund, a panel of 10 global experts in charge of providing recommendations to the Green Climate Fund's board of directors for the best relationship with the private sector.

For his part, Felipe Zepeda is a civil industrial engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, specializing in strategic planning, project structuring and evaluation, budgeting and management control. He has held the position of manager of administration and development at Banco BICE and is a member of the board of directors of the COANIL Educational Foundation.

He has a master's degree in management and systems and a diploma in financial management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in addition to having studied management at Harvard University.
