Chile’s Cariola Díez Pérez Cotapos adds new partner
Chilean law firm Cariola Díez Pérez Cotapos has announced the addition of Ignacia López as a partner in the labor, social security and immigration practice.

With her integration as a partner, Ignacia rejoins the firm, having served in its litigation practice from 2006 to 2009.
Specializing in labor litigation, following her departure from the firm, López took charge of the labor law area of a large private healthcare provider, and where she also led its human resources department.
She has ample professional experience in labor counseling, people management, labor litigation in diverse and complex matters, as well as proven experience in the design and implementation of human resources policies and corporate governance.
She has represented trade associations before the Senate Labor Committee, the Labor Directorate and the Constitutional Court. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Labor Commission of the Confederation of Production and Commerce.
She holds master’s degree in business law from the Universidad de los Andes, and is a law graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and holds diplomas in corporations and financing from the Universidad de los Andes, and in labor procedure reform from the Universidad de Chile.
Through its specialized labor advice area, Cariola Díez Pérez Cotapos provides consulting and legal advice on the legal provisions and regulations that affect labor and pension activities in Chile, and which includes the drafting and preparation of all types of employment contracts in relation to all hiring mechanisms allowed by current legislation, the structuring of compensation and incentive packages, stock options programs, preventive labor audits, labor due diligence work, and support in corporate restructuring processes with an impact on labor and in outsourcing of services. The firm’s advice also includes the drafting of employment contracts for foreign personnel and the preparation and monitoring of the corresponding applications for work permits and visas, providing support in all matters of interest to foreign executives residing in Chile.
