Bolivia’s Villegas Aldazosa incorporates new partner

Bolivian law firm Villegas Aldazosa has announced the incorporation of a new partner, José Alberto Ribera, who will be in charge of the firm’s certified public accounting and transfer pricing practice.

Ribera holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Católica Boliviana in La Paz, and certificates in international accounting standards from the Universidad Adolfo Ibañez in Chile, in strategy and business analytics from the INCAE Business School, and in international tax law and tax advisory from the Universidad Austral in Argentina.
 
With more than 30 years of experience in ​​audit process, taxes and accounting, he has formed part of the audit teams at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where he held the position of senior auditor, and at KPMG, where he was a tax specialist.

He has also held the position of partner at CPA Ferrere, and has more than 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector at Tigo Bolivia, a subsidiary of Millicom International Cellular, in positions including financial controller and tax manager.

During his professional career, he has participated in the execution of important projects such as M&A and tax planning, generating significant savings for his employers and clients. 

In his career as a consultant, he has advised companies across a broad range of sectors, including services, commercial, financial and insurance, mining, oil, industrial and agricultural.
