Windin’ Capital secures financing for Chilean wind farm

The financing also included the value-added tax associated with the construction of the project, for the equivalent in pesos of $3.5 million.
The Cancura wind farm will have an installed capacity of approximately 36.6MW, and also includes the construction of a regulated substation associated with the wind farm, of 66KV of capacity, located in Angol, the capital city of the Chilean province of Malleco.
Law firm Carey advised Windin’ Capital on the local aspects of the senior financing. The advice involved coordination with the client's various advisors (financial, technical and legal) and the simultaneous negotiation of the senior financing, subject to foreign law, and the VAT financing, subject to Chilean law.
