Safetec Joins Halma Group Following €72.5 Million Acquisition

Halma plc, a global group listed on the London Stock Exchange bringing together life-saving technology companies operating in the safety, environmental and health sectors, has announced the acquisition of Safetec S.r.l., an Italian company specializing in fire and gas safety solutions, for €72.5 million.

Halma plc, a global group listed on the London Stock Exchange bringing together life-saving technology companies operating in the safety, environmental and health sectors, has announced the acquisition of Safetec S.r.l., an Italian company specializing in fire and gas safety solutions, for €72.5 million (on a cash- and debt-free basis). Safetec will operate as an autonomous entity within Halma’s Safety Sector, continuing to be led by its current management team.

Founded in 2003 and headquartered near Milan, Safetec designs customized fire and gas safety solutions for large-scale, complex and high-risk industrial projects. Safetec’s solutions enable clients to actively manage risks and comply with industry standards to protect people and critical assets in challenging environments. Its markets include power generation, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and other highly regulated sectors where stringent safety requirements are essential. Safetec’s main markets are the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

A&O Shearman assisted Halma on all legal aspects of the transaction with a team led by partners Matt Hamilton-Foyn and Emanuele Trucco, supported by senior associate Greta Dell’Anna, associate Giovanna Sottoriva and trainee Duccio Cangioli.

Italian law firm BW Legal assisted the seller, with a team led by partner Riccardo Roversi, supported by senior associate Alberto Passera and associate Gaia Lagrasta.
