International law firm Osborne Clarke has appointed Borja Pascual, formerly of Cuatrecasas, as the new Finance Director (CFO) in Spain. The appointment is aimed at strengthening the firm’s management team in the Spanish market and accelerating its strategy of sustainable growth, operational innovation and technology integration. Over time, Pascual will also take on broader COO responsibilities.
Pascual has nearly 20 years’ experience in finance and management across the legal, pharmaceutical, industrial and consulting sectors. He began his career as an auditor at KPMG and later held positions in multinational, highly competitive environments, building strong expertise in business control and operational management. He then spent almost a decade at Cuatrecasas as director of pricing, where he led projects on profitability, digital transformation and innovation in pricing and financial control, helping to drive the firm’s growth in Spain and Portugal.
He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Universitat Ramon Llull (IQS) and a master’s degree in Business Management and Auditing from the University of Barcelona (UB), combining solid financial skills with a technological and strategic outlook.
Managing partners Jordi Casas and Miguel Lorán underlined that Pascual’s arrival “fits squarely within the firm’s international strategic plan, responding to growing client demand for increasingly complex, multi-jurisdictional projects, while at the same time integrating AI-based solutions into our management and business development.”
Borja Pascual said that “The legal market is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, driven by artificial intelligence and automation. Firms that manage to embed these tools into their operating model will be the ones to stand out. In this context, the line between the CFO and COO roles is becoming blurred, giving way to a more transversal, analytical and strategic kind of leadership.
