Mexico’s Galicia adds tax litigation partner

Before joining Galicia, Laura enjoyed an outstanding career in the Supreme Court of Mexico and has also worked for a well-renowned law firm in the country specializing in tax matters.
She has also held the position of secretary and coordinator at the conference of ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico for 11 years, during which she acquired in-depth knowledge of the Mexican legal system. For eight years, she served as a magistrate of the 14th Metropolitan Regional Court of the Federal Tribunal for Administrative Justice), where she was the judge in numerous cases in tax and administrative law matters.
During her tenure at the aforementioned tribunal, Paola was a member of the commission for gender equality, focusing on the implementation of policies related to sexual and workplace harassment, labor equality and non-discrimination.
Paola is currently a member of the Latin American Network of Women in Procedural Law.
She graduated in law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and has enriched her training with a number of advanced studies courses both in Mexico and abroad. She also has a PhD in administration and government of the judiciary from the Institute of Judicial Studies of the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico City, and from the Institute of Legal Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Her international focus is reflected in her completion of postgraduate studies in Italy and Spain, as well as in her participation in the management program for lawyers at Yale School of Management.
