Carlos joined the firm, which has offices in Mexico City and the northern city of Monterrey, in 2013 as an associate in the environmental practice and has more than 19 years’ experience in the sector, specializing in the development of infrastructure, renewable energy and hydrocarbons projects, as well as in the manufacturing, mining and tourism sectors.
He has assisted clients in regulatory and financing matters and has participated in some of the most complex projects of recent years, such as Actis’ acquisition of an energy portfolio from Intergen, and Abertis and GIC’s acquisition of a highway network in Mexico from Goldman Sachs. He has also advised on the financing of solar power projects.
He is a law graduate of Mexican technological institute ITAM and has a master’s degree in environmental sciences and sustainable development from University College London.
Lisandro Herrera joined Galicia Abogados in 2017 and is an expert in health regulation and life sciences, with more than 15 years’ experience in those areas, having worked as a Latin American regional in-house counsel for a number of multinational pharmaceutical companies, as well as for law firms.
He participated in the negotiations toward the Pacific Alliance, the Trans-Pacific Economic Cooperation Agreement and free trade agreements between Latin American countries and the European Union.
He has held the position of professor on the foreign trade diplomate course at Mexico’s Escuela Libre de Derecho and as professor of intellectual property at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
