Austrian vehicle logistics specialist Hödlmayr International GmbH has signed an agreement to acquire the commercial high & heavy vehicle division of Gartner KG, a move that will significantly expand its capabilities in the specialized transport and logistics segment.

The transaction covers Gartner KG’s commercial high & heavy vehicle business, including its established customer base and dedicated fleet of heavy transport vehicles. Following completion, the acquired activities will be integrated into Hödlmayr High & Heavy GmbH, further reinforcing the group’s presence in a market that continues to experience growing demand for complex and oversized transport solutions.

The acquisition is expected to generate substantial operational synergies, particularly in transport organization, fleet utilization and service delivery. By combining Gartner’s expertise and assets with its own platform, Hödlmayr aims to enhance efficiency while broadening its offering to customers across Europe.

Founded as a family-owned business, Hödlmayr International is one of Europe’s leading vehicle logistics providers, offering services across the entire automotive logistics value chain, from transport to distribution. The group employs approximately 1,900 people and recently reported revenues of around €445 million.

Commenting on the transaction, Johannes A. Hödlmayr, CEO of Hödlmayr International GmbH, said: “The acquisition of Gartner KG’s commercial high & heavy vehicle division is a significant step for our company. It enables us to expand our offerings in a targeted manner and provide our customers with even more comprehensive and integrated logistics solutions in the high & heavy sector.”

The deal remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the end of summer 2026.

E+H advised Hödlmayr International on the transaction. The team was led by Dr. Clemens Lanschützer, who noted: “The logistics sector is in flux, and with this acquisition, Hödlmayr is making a clear statement in the market. ”
