Guido Demarco named new director and head of Legal Assets for Stonward Litigation Funding

Stonward Litigation Funding announced today that Guido Demarco will join the firm as its new director and head of Legal Assets, where his focus will be on Spain and the Americas. Stonward was recently ranked by Leaders League as Highly Recommended in Dispute Resolution in Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina.
Demarco joins the financial litigation firm from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where he worked closely with multiple national governments. Prior to that, Demarco was an associate with Baker McKenzie in Buenos Aires, where he worked on cross-border and financing deals.
The new director has extensive experience in private and sovereign debt restructuring, NPLs and other legal, banking, and financing projects, including the design of the secondary market for non-performing loans in Kazakhstan.
“The work Stonward has done in the last year has been fantastic and we now must continue growing along the same lines,” Demarco said in a statement. “We have plans to expand our team this year, grow our business in the Spanish and Latin American markets (where there is significant demand for financing), and strengthen our ties with our strategic partners. We also plan to expand our range of services with regard to the sale of NPL porftolios.”
