Fieldfisher strengths its international arbitration practice with Pedro Claros as partner

Fieldfisher has appointed Pedro Claros as partner and head of the international arbitration practice in its Madrid office, incorporating, for the first time, this practice area in the Spanish firm. Antonio Delgado will join Pedro’s team as international arbitration of counsel.

Pedro joins as a partner in Madrid Fieldfisher’s office, strengthening the international arbitration offering, particularly in Spanish-speaking markets. He brings with him a wealth of experience handling cases in Europe and the Americas and has 25 years of experience in investor-state and commercial arbitration, with expertise in disputes relating to renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, and construction.

Pedro is a lawyer, arbitrator and jurist specialized in international litigation and arbitration since 1997. He holds a Master’s degree in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center (Washington, DC), and a degree in Business Administration and Management (ICADE E-3), having worked in law firms such as Garrigues, for more than 7 years, and Cuatrecasas, for more than 15 years. In recent years, before joining Fieldfisher, Pedro has developed his career in his own boutique, Claros Abogados.

Antonio joins Pedro’s team as international arbitration of counsel. He has more than 18 years of experience in commercial arbitration and investment disputes, practicing in several jurisdictions, including Madrid, London and Geneva. He is recognized as an expert in disputes in sectors such as energy and construction, as well as in cases related to foreign direct investment. Antonio will be operating in Central America so for one year he will be based in Costa Rica and Spain.
