Dentons Muñoz in Costa Rica adds new partner

Dentons Muñoz has announced the promotion of José Pablo González to partner, and who is a member of the firm’s tax practice in Costa Rica.

José Pablo’s practice focuses on international taxation and he has extensive accounting and financial knowledge.

He has more than 15 years of experience in tax compliance and litigation matters, as well as in the implementation of customized estate planning strategies, both locally and internationally. He advises owner-managers on tax efficient strategies to maximize growth.

He has been a bilingual tax advisor to companies and has supported individuals, local and multinational companies in various business sectors and industries, such as banking, retail, agribusiness, real estate, pharmaceuticals, energy, among others.

He works hand in hand with his clients to understand the complex legal and tax issues they face, so that he can help them achieve their legal and tax structuring objectives.

In addition, he is experienced in tax controversy processes against authorities, both at the administrative and judicial level, and has established a solid reputation for effective planning and problem solving. He also assists companies in navigating complex audits and disputes to avoid the costs and complexities of court where possible. He always looks to anticipate any tax liabilities and potential conflicts that may occur and delivers the most advantageous arrangements, positions, and provisions for his clients.

As part of his attention to clients, he ensures that they comply with ever-changing tax rules and regulations. He prioritizes tax efficiencies for his clients and resolves their issues before they escalate to major problems.

He is a member of the Costa Rican Bar Association’s tax law committee, of the International Fiscal Association and the International Bar Association, in addition to being a coordinating member of the tax commission for the Costa Rican chapter of the World Compliance Association (WCA), and is also a member of the Tax Policy Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica.
