Deloitte Legal bolsters shipping and yachting practice in Genoa with Cecilia Vernetti and team

Deloitte Legal has announced the arrival of Cecilia Vernetti at its Genoa office, significantly strengthening its offering in maritime law with a specific focus on the shipping and yachting sectors. Joining alongside Vernetti are Giulia Fioretti, Ilaria Simonini, and Luca Moncini, forming a highly specialised team with a well-established presence in both domestic and international markets.

Cecilia Vernetti is an experienced maritime lawyer and founder of the boutique firm Studio Legale Camera Vernetti, established in 2010. Her integration into Deloitte Legal is a strategic move aimed at developing high-level expertise in a sector of critical importance to the Italian economy. The team provides legal assistance to shipowners, private owners, shipyards, brokers, and insurance companies, covering contractual matters, insurance claims, and complex litigation, including international arbitration.

The arrival of the new team creates significant synergies with Deloitte Legal’s existing Ports & Shipping practice in Genoa, coordinated by Francesco Munari. The integration allows the firm to cover the entire maritime and port value chain. While Munari’s practice focuses on regulation, markets, and port services, the new team brings specialised expertise in contracts related to the construction, refit, and operation of vessels and yachts.
